Broadcom raises up to $100B in debt financing to fund AI chip demand for Anthropic and others

The historic deal highlights how AI infrastructure is becoming a distinct asset class in capital markets.

Broadcom is in talks to raise $70 billion to $100 billion in debt financing for chip deals supporting artificial intelligence companies including Anthropic, with Blackstone and Apollo Global Management among the firms in talks. The senior tranche is expected to be around $45 billion, with a $35 billion junior tranche following. This follows a $35 billion financing announced in June and comes as chipmakers seek historic capital levels to meet surging AI demand, with Nvidia also committing up to $105 billion for a new OpenAI data center in Ohio.

Nvidia pays $6B to license AI software from Poolside, hires 109 employees in non-acquisition deal

The third of its kind for Nvidia, the arrangement secures talent and IP without triggering full acquisition review.

Nvidia agreed to pay $6 billion to license Poolside's "Model Factory" AI model-development software and will make job offers to 109 Poolside employees, while investing $1 billion in the remaining company at a $12 billion pre-money valuation. The deal, structured as a non-exclusive license rather than an acquisition, follows similar arrangements with Groq and Enfabrica, totaling roughly $27 billion across three deals. Poolside's three co-founders remain with the company as it continues to operate independently.
