Meta releases Muse Glimmer, a 30B-parameter local multimodal model running on a single GPU

This Apache 2.0 release enables consumer-grade hardware to host agentic AI without cloud dependency, marking a shift toward accessible local intelligence.

The model supports 131K context windows and over 100 languages, delivering a 3.1x speedup in performance compared to previous local iterations. Its availability as a free download highlights the growing trend of open-weight models competing directly with API-based services in coding and reasoning tasks.

ServiceNow Knowledge 2026 marks shift from assistive to agentic AI with Otto, Action Fabric, and expanded Control Tower

The May conference introduced the platform's most comprehensive agentic AI strategy, positioning ServiceNow as the "AI Control Tower for Business Reinvention."

Key announcements included ServiceNow Otto (a unified AI experience combining Now Assist, Moveworks, and AI Experience), Action Fabric (opening ServiceNow workflows to any external AI agent via the Model Context Protocol server), and an expanded AI Control Tower now included in every product package. The Autonomous Workforce now covers IT, CRM, HR, Legal, Finance, Procurement, and Security with specialized AI agents. The Australia release delivered these capabilities with enhanced governance.

CEO Bill McDermott framed the theme as moving from "AI chaos to control," with the platform now sensing, deciding, acting, and securing autonomous work at scale. Partnerships expanded with NVIDIA (Project Arc autonomous desktop agent), Microsoft (AI Control Tower across Agent 365), and others. Customer results include Honeywell's "Red" assistant eliminating most service desk conversations and the NHL scaling AI across 32 clubs.

Autonomous Security launches six unified AI-powered solutions for prevention-first cyber defense

The August 4 announcement introduces Shift Zero, a new paradigm where security operates at machine speed across exposure management, vulnerability detection, cyber-physical, identity, incident response, and compliance.

ServiceNow unveiled six unified security solutions powered by AI Specialists, consolidating what were previously fragmented tools into one governed motion under the AI Control Tower. The offerings span unified exposure management with agentic triage, continuous vulnerability detection across code and cloud, cyber-physical security for OT and IoT environments, identity and access security for non-human identities including AI agents, agentic incident response with a Tier 2 SOC AI Specialist, and continuous cyber risk and compliance monitoring.

Yevgeny Dibrov, SVP and GM of Cybersecurity and Risk, noted that "machine identities double every 18 months" and that fragmented tools cannot match AI's velocity. Early results include a global energy company reducing threat containment time by 97% and a US financial institution eliminating 96% of dormant non-human identities. The security division surpassed $1 billion in annual contract value.

April 2026 packaging release redefines ITSM and ITOM licensing with new tier structures

ITSM moved to a three-tier model (Foundation, Advanced, Prime) while ITOM condensed to two tiers (Advanced, Prime), with AI bundled in every tier.

The ITSM Foundation tier covers basic incident, request, asset, and cost processes with out-of-the-box AI. ITSM Advanced adds the full ITIL suite (Problem, Change, Major Incident, On-Call, Walk-up) with stronger analytics and configurable AI. ITSM Prime is the only tier allowing creation of net-new custom AI skills and agents, with highest Assist allocations and DevOps Change Velocity. For ITOM, the Advanced tier provides visibility (discovery, CMDB, mapping) without operational reaction tools, while Prime consolidates all AIOps and observability capabilities including Event Management, Metric Intelligence, and Health Log Analytics.

Combined SKUs like ServiceOps Advanced (ITSM Advanced + ITOM Advanced) and ServiceOps Prime offer unified credit meters for organizations running both solutions. A notable change: DevOps Change Velocity moved from the intermediate tier to Prime exclusively, affecting organizations relying on automated DevOps pipelines.
